YouTube
is planning on hiring an 'Intelligence Desk' in order to stop
inappropriate videos being posted online, such as Logan Paul's recent
dead body vlog.
After
the controversial video was posted to Logan Paul's channel, YouTube has
proactively started policing the streaming site for inappropriate or
offensive content.
Paul
published the video of him visiting Aokigahara, a place in Japan known
as the 'suicide forest'. It also showed him discovering a dead body, and
was followed by a public backlash against both Paul and YouTube over
its failure to stop hateful and disagreeable videos from being uploaded.

The
desk will rely on social media trends, user reports, Google data and
third-party consultants in order to identify inappropriate videos which
they will then remove or stop advertisers from appearing close to it. YouTube
had faced criticism over slowly responding to the video that blogger
Paul uploaded. The video was up for several weeks and was even ranked as
a trending video in the top ten before it was eventually removed.
The company apologized for the video and posted an open letter on its Twitter account, condemning Paul's actions. And
although the vlogger himself has made several attempts to apologize,
YouTube has now taken significant action against him. They've removed
his channels from Google Preferred, a premium service that allows
advertisers to more effectively pair up their adverts with
top-performing YouTube videos. Additionally, Paul has been dropped from season 4 of Foursome and his new Originals has also been put on hold.
